Good to know
What is an RCIC?
A Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant, licensed by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC). Only licensed consultants, lawyers and Québec notaries can charge you for immigration advice.
What do L1, L2 and L3 mean?
L1 and L2 are consultant classes; L1 is typically held by consultants newer to the profession. L3 (RCIC-IRB) consultants can also represent you at the Immigration and Refugee Board.
Do I need a consultant in my own city?
Not always. Many consultants meet online. If you want to meet in person, or prefer someone who knows your local community, start with your area.
Is FindMyConsultant part of the government or the CICC?
No. It is an independent directory. The licence details come from the CICC public register, and you should confirm a consultant's licence there before hiring them.
